Star Wars: The Old Republic gets the top prize, despite having only been released for a short while. The scope of the game and the vast improvements it makes within the MMORPG genre are both astounding. A truly story-driven game that also brings in fresh and interesting mechanics, you'll no longer suffer 'quest boredom' as you feel like you really are your character.

Thor: God of Thunder gets our dreaded Hung, Drawn and Quartered prize this year. It was a difficult decision, in a year where so many excellent games were released. Thor failed to impress when I had a crack at it shortly after the movie's release. I should have known better, but I still live in hope that a decent movie-based game will be released in the near future. Here's to Spider-Man 2, LOTR: Return of the King, From Russia With Love and the surprisingly brilliant King Kong.

BulletStorm wins our Jewel in the Rough prize this year because it took me by surprise and managed to stand out in an over-saturated FPS market. The most fun comes when you're figuring out the various combo shots available and teaming up with others in the horde-style online mode. Grab this one for a bargain at your local store if you have a bit of spare cash after Christmas!
